Claremore senior Terran Schornick slides to second base while avoiding a tag from Tahlequah’s Lexi Hannah (23) on Thursday, Oct. 15, during the Class 5A state quarterfinals at USA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City. Schornick and the Lady Zebras won the game 8-1 to advance to the semifinals.

The accolades keep coming for Claremore softball.

Terran Schornick was named to the Large East All-State team, which was announced Tuesday by the Oklahoma High School Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association. Moreover, Lady Zebras coach Keeli Coyle will guide the squad.

Schornick managed a .333 batting average her senior season while registering an on-base percentage of .409 with 20 RBIs and 25 runs scores. As an outfielder, she notched a nearly flawless fielding percentage of .964, committing only two errors through 37 games.

Coyle earned the All-State coaching honor after leading Claremore to a 23-14 record with an appearance in the Class 5A state semifinals — the program’s first since 2013.

Coyle has guided the Lady Zebras to at least 20 wins three times since taking the job in 2016, compiling a record of 92-88.

Elsewhere, Oologah’s dynamic duo of Bailie Runner and Kenzie Chacon were named to the Middle East All-State team. They helped the Lady Mustangs to a District 4A-7 title and a 25-6 record this season.

The games are scheduled for Saturday, June 12, 2021, at Oklahoma Christian University in Edmond. The Large school game is set for 3:30 p.m., which will be preceded by the Middle school game at 1 p.m.
