Paiten Reavis would not be denied at the plate on Thursday, picking up four hits while leading Claremore to a 12-2 win over Bishop Kelley.

Reavis singled in the second, third, fifth and sixth innings.

Bishop Kelley got on the board first with a single, but the Lady Zebras wouldn’t be down for long.

Claremore pulled away for good with three runs in the second inning.

Reavis singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, and Jadyn Muns doubled on a 0-2 count for two more runs.

The Lady Zebras put the pressure on in the fifth, scoring four runs, led by a single from Julia Hoffman and a double from Muns.

Alyssa Poorboy was credited with the victory in the circle for Claremore, striking out four while allowing six hits and one walk through six innings.

The Lady Comets’ pitcher surrendered 12 runs on 19 hits through five innings while striking out only one.

Hoffman, Reavis, Muns, Abbey Hagen, Maddox Thomas, Emily Rogers and Lauren Feeler all collected multiple hits for the Lady Zebras.

Reavis and Hoffman led the way with four hits apiece.

Claremore was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Hoffman made the most plays with seven.


Verdigris took the lead late and defeated Tahlequah, 7-6, in the Sequoyah Tahelquah Fall Classic on Thursday.

The Lady Cardinals Varsity collected ten hits, and Tahlequah had eight.

Tahlequah opened up scoring in the first inning when Betty Danner homered on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.

Verdigris knotted the game up at four in the top of the third inning, though.

Brylee Ray led the Verdigris to victory in the circle. She went five innings, allowing five runs on eight hits, striking out one and walking zero.

Bailey Jones started the game for Tahlequah. She surrendered six runs on ten hits through five innings.

Faith Weiesnbach, Jackie Zaferes and Megan Turner each managed multiple hits for the Lady Cardinals.

Turner, Zaferes and Weisenbach each had two hits to lead Verdigris.

The Lady Cardinals didn't commit a single error in the field.

Turner had five chances in the field, the most on the team.

Verdigris stole six bases during the game, with two players stealing more than one.

McKenna Wofford (3) and Savannah Wiggins (2) each racked up multiple hits for Tahlequah.


Both teams were strong on the rubber on Thursday, but Verdigris defeated Lincoln Christian, 3-0.

Kaydence Bender got the win for the Lady Cardinals. She went 4.2 innings, allowing only two hits while striking out one and walking zero.

Adyson Roberts toed the rubber for Lincoln Christian, allowing two hits and three runs through five innings, striking out nine.

Daeya Moses and Hailey Schoeling each collected one hit to lead Verdigris at the plate.


Verdigris scored four runs in the fourth inning on the way to a 6-1 victory over Beggs on Thursday.

The game was tied at one in the top of the third when Moses scored a run with an RBI groundout.

An error gave Beggs its lone run.

The offensive onslaught in the fourth began with a single from Turner, a groundout from Bender, an error on a ball put in play by Weiesnbach and a double by Abigail Teal.

Ray earned the victory in the circle for the Cardinals, striking out one while allowing four hits and one walk through 3.2 innings.

Kaci Phelps took the loss for Beggs, allowing six runs on seven hits while striking out three and walking zero through four innings.

Turner went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Verdigris in hits.

Hannah Padgett led Beggs with two hits in three at bats.
