EDMOND — Rogers State’s softball Hillcats dropped their third straight doubleheader Monday, losing at Oklahoma Christian.

Oklahoma Christian defeated Kelli Dunagan in both games. The Eagles won the opener, 5-1, on Linzi Farris’ five-hitter, and then erupted for 11 hits in the nightcap to prevail, 5-4.

With a six-game losing streak, the Hillcats stand at 40-14 and 14-11 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. They head home today for a 6 p.m. makeup game with Oklahoma City at the Hillcat Complex.

The Hillcats, who were No. 11 in the NAIA national rankings, dropped doubleheaders to Oklahoma City and Northwestern last week.

The Eagles ran their record to 30-21 and pulled even in the SAC at 12-12.

First game

The Eagles scored twice in the first and added three more in the fourth to hand Dunagan her 10th loss against 26 wins.

Only two of the runs were earned as the Hillcats committed six errors.

RSU stranded six base runners, and Oklahoma Christian left eight on base.

Sara Walkup had two hits for the Hillcats and Randi Tyler drove in the lone run in the third.

Farris (12-8) struck out five and walked three.

Second game

The Hillcats played catch-up all day, but could never move ahead.

Tanya Koch drove in two runs on two hits and Tyler hit a solo homer, but even that was not enough.

Eight Oklahoma Christian players got hits, with Tracy Washam collecting three and Sandra Darmstadt two. Five Eagles drove in the runs to defeat Dunagan, who had replaced Jenny Johnson in the first.
