Rogers County proved to be fertile ground for great softball in 2019.

Several players from Claremore, Verdigris, Sequoyah, Inola and Oologah were selected to All-District teams.

Claremore’s Maddox Thomas (Co-Defensive Player of the Year), Inola’s Lillie Walker (Pitcher of the Year) and Oologah’s Kenzie Chacon (Player of the Year) and Emma Gill (Offensive Player of the Year) were recognized as some of the area’s best in their respective districts.

Oologah (34-4) fell to eventual champion Newcastle in the Class 4A state semifinals, and Claremore (21-14) finished as regional runner-up to Tahlequah.

Verdigris and Inola finished 23-10 and 19-12, respectively, after heartbreaking losses in regional tournament action.
