Claremore freshman Sylvia Admire during the Class 6A state swim meet in Jenks.

Only one week after Claremore freshman Sylvia Admire's double silver debut in the Class swimming state meet, she was back in the water.

The USA Swimming Oklahoma State Championship was held in Edmond over the weekend. USA Swimming is the national governing body for competitive swimming in the United States.

At this, meet Admire was matched against the fastest short-course swimmers in the state, and she proved she was up to the challenge.

She brought home the gold in both the 50 freestyle and the 200 IM. She added two silvers to her medal count in the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle when she was narrowly outmatched by her Trident Aquatics teammate Maya Foley.

Admire trains at Trident Aquatics in Owasso and is under the guidance of coach Mike Travers, assistant coach Kristen Foley, strength and conditioning coach Elizabeth Barnett, and stroke/technique analyst and founder of Trident Aquatics Sean Callan.
