Rogers County high school football fans can now vote for their favorite wide receivers and tight ends.

VYPE Oklahoma launched its second Fan’s Choice poll of the summer for each area of the state Thursday, and Claremore’s Brooks Sherl, Hayden Jones of Verdigris, Sequoyah’s Tyler Kruis and Dalton Norman of Inola are among the local on the WR/TE ballot for the Pryor-412 hub in the northeast region.

Sherl, an incoming senior, recorded 328 yards receiving and four touchdowns on 26 receptions through 11 games in 2019.

Jones, also an incoming senior, spent most of 2019 quarterbacking the Cardinals before moving to receiver halfway through the regular season. As a result, he caught only two passes for 15 yards.

When behind center, Jones threw for 1,000 yards and 11 touchdowns with seven interceptions on 43-of-81 passing.

Norman, an incoming senior for the Longhorns, caught 51 passes for 778 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Stats for Kruis were unavailable.

Voting will close at 8 p.m. June 25, and the Fan’s Choice and Editor’s Choice team will be published in the August issue of VYPE Northeast.
